Lere Olayinka, a former media aide to former Ekiti governor, Ayodele Fayose has reacted to the commencement of massive projects at Gama ward of Nassarawa Local Government Area, few days to a rerun election that will be held in the state on March 23.

Gama ward will be a big decider for the winner of the poll. Abba Yusuf, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governorship candidate in Kano is leading after polling 1,014,474 votes, while Ganduje of the All Progressives Congress (APC) scored 987,819 votes leaving a difference of 26,655 votes.

“Because of rerun, Ganduje suddenly started constructing a new road in Gama. But Kano people named the ongoing road after the PDP candidate-elect singing “sabo titi, sabo gwamna” meaning “new road, new governor”

“You think you are stubborn, you will know that Kano people stubborn than you,” he said.

The people of Gama woke up on Friday morning to see construction workers in their vicinity as Kano State Government embarked on the said projects.

It was gathered that at least three projects, comprising refuse evacuation, mass drilling of boreholes and road reconstruction were kicked off within the last three days in the community.

Gama’s result was cancelled in the aftermath of the March 9 governorship election following an attack on the local government’s collation centre on March 11 led by top officials of the Abdullahi Ganduje administration.

The attack was believed to have been led the state’s deputy governor, Nasiru Gawuna.

The altercation led to the tearing of result sheets for the ward, according to the electoral commission, INEC, and returning officers.
