You don’t prove integrity by poverty – Reno Omokri slams Osinbajo

Mojeed Oladipupo

Reno Omokri, a former media aide to former president Goodluck  Jonathan has replied the vice president, Yemi Osinbajo that president Muhammadu Buhari is not a poor person as he said.

This is a reaction to a comment credited to the vice president when he was talking about his boss on Thursday during a dinner in honour of volunteer supporters of the All Progressives Congress (APC) for the 2019 general election, held at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.

Omokri, who a staunch critic of the present administration said, Buhari is poor yet his daughter had a multimillion dollar wedding, his son crashed a multimillion Naira bike, he and his wife now dress in a designer, and his kids fly British Airways first class.

@MBuhari is poorer now than in 2015”-@ProfOsinbajo. Yet: * His daughter wedded in a multimillion-dollar wedding * His son crashed a multimillion Naira bike * He and his wife now dress in designer * His kids fly BA First Class (I saw with my eye) Stop the lies #BuhariNotPoorer

@ProfOsinbajo glamourises poverty by saying @MBuhari is poorer now than in 2015. First of all, it is a lie! Is poverty good? Is poverty a virtue? Can a leader who can’t increase his wealth increase the nation’s wealth? You don’t prove INTEGRITY by POVERTY,” he tweeted.

The vice president also acknowledged that the diligent communication carried out to put across the APC message in 2015 was not sustained, making the administration lose some ground to the opposition, especially in the social media.

He said the new administration would ensure that it makes the change in that regard.
