Operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Comission (EFCC) are on election monitoring duties as part of efforts to check vote-buying.
In some states, the EFCC deployed drones to monitor activities in some polling units across the state.
This has led to some arrest of vote buyers in Kwara, Benue and Ogun states respectively with huge sum of money allegedly planned to be used in inducing voters in the governorship and national assemblies elections in twenty states.
The high point of the arrest so far is the interception of bags full of cash believed to be meant for vote-buying at North Bank Area, Makurdi, Benue State.
The EFCC via its Twitter page added that information gathered by the agency confirmed that the money “allegedly belongs” to Emmanuel Jimeh, the governorship candidate of the APC in Benue.
