A two-storey building has collapsed in Ibadan, the capital city of a south-western state, Oyo. The yet-to-be-completed building crashed down on Friday evening leaving several construction workers trapped in the rubble.

An eyewitness revealed to a PoliticsNGR correspondent that the incident occurred at about 6 p.m at Sogoye, around the popular Idi Arere-Molete Road. At the time of filing this report, 3 people have been pulled out of the rubble with severe injuries.

This shocking development is occurring a day after a building housing a school collapsed in Ita-faji area of Lagos state. Several casualties were recorded prompting the government to crack down on illegal structures and badly constructed buildings in the state.

Our correspondent is currently at the scene. Expect more details shortly.
