Taraba governor, Darius Ishaku has expressed his appreciation to the voters who ensured his reelection in the governorship poll.
Ishaku took to his social media page to appreciate the voters.
“It’s official. Thank you Tarabans. My win is your win. You made it possible. Thank you once again. God bless you all,” he wrote on his Facebook wall.
The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) had declared Ishaku winner of the poll after winning 12 out of 16 local government areas.
The Returning Officer, Professor Iya Shehu of the Modibbo Adamawa University of Technology, Adamawa state declared the results at the INEC office in Jalingo, the Taraba state Capital.
Ishaku who contested under the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) polled 520,433 votes to defeat the candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Sani Danladi who emerged second with 362,735 votes, winning only four Local Government Areas of the state.
UDP Candidate, Aisha Alhassan, a former minister for women affairs and social development polled 16,289 votes to become the second runner up.
