nwaoboshi - Serving PDP Senator detained at Ikoyi Prison gets bail

Senator Peter Nwaoboshi representing Delta Central has been granted bail after being remanded in Ikoyi Prison.

The Lagos State division of the Federal High Court on Friday granted bail to Nwaoboshi based on self-recognizance. The senator was charged with an alleged fraud of N322m.

The presiding justice, Mohammed Idris, instructed him to get two sureties who will each sign a bail bond of N50m within 72 hours and ordered that his passport be deposited to the court.

Justice Idris stressed that the lawmaker could not travel out of the country without the court’s permission until the end of the case.
