The senator-elect representing Eket senatorial district, Dr Mrs Akon Eyakenyi, on Monday, returned to thank her Excellency, Mrs Martha Emmanuel for her motherly role in her emergence as the only female senator from Akwa Ibom in the 9th assembly.

She was accompanied by the commissioner for women affairs and social welfare, Dr Glory Edet, 2 Female house members-elect Dr Ido and Rt. Hon. Felicia Bassey and all the chapter co-ordinators of committed women for Udom 2019.

Setting the tone, Dr Edet said the women came to thank her Excellency for being a prayerful and supportive wife to our Governor and playing a key role in the emergence of these three women. Dr Eyakenyi while thanking the Governor’s wife pledged her unalloyed loyalty to her Excellency and promised to make Akwa Ibom people proud.

Responding to Eyakenyi’s comments,  Mrs Emmanuel said that all thanks should be given to God alone. That God saved his name by making his people victorious and by this victory, a lot of those who didn’t believe in God have come to know the power of God.

She concluded by saying that everyone should keep trusting God that His Excellency’s 2nd term performance shall be better than the first. The high point of the visit was Dr Eyakenyi’s presentation of her certificate of return to her Excellency.
