Happening for the first time in Nigeria, School Games is set to inspire millions of young sports enthusiasts across Nigerian schools, who will participate in the sporting event. The Games aim to foster healthy friendships and interactions amongst children from diverse ethnicities, thus promoting the one-Nigeria dream via the power of sports.

Adeyemi Egbeoluwa, founder of the Private School Games Initiative and a passionate educationist states thus; “School Games is a dream come true. For us, it is an expression of hope in the coming generation and their hidden potentials beyond the conventional formal education. I have come to realize that Sports competitions are key to the all-round development and growth of our Children. It is important to quantify, identify and aggregate the total contribution of private school talents to the pool of young and emerging sports men and women across the country. “While the public school sector has various initiatives sponsored by Government both on National and State level, those opportunities are few and far between when it comes to Private Schools sports competitions. School Games Limited is determined to fill this void by organising a world class multi-sport competition and marketing it as a platform where talented private secondary schools students can be identified, developed and nurtured.”

Over the years Government-run Public schools have produced some of the country’s most celebrated athletes globally. The Games will extend this challenge to private Schools to get more children interested in sports and possibly, pursuing a career in same. Competitions play a significant role in motivating students to effectively channel physical, mental and emotional strength for excellent performance while reinforcing the possibility mentality in young learners.
