One of the things we learnt while growing up is “silence is golden and if one must talk, one must not be garrulous.”
Observations have shown that people who are motormouthed lack tacts. On the other hands, one who listens and observes gives weighty and convincing words. Such a person can sell any idea to every kind of human. That’s *oratory*! A very germane but rare attribute of a leader. Today, I experienced this!
I was overwhelmed with joy when I was listening to the Senate President Federal Republic of Nigeria, Dr. Abubakar Bukola Saraki, addressing the world in reactions to the political situations in the country. His choice of words, the sincerity of the message and occasional humours made the address most appealing and typical of good leader.
Unlike his many antagonists, the Senate President did not commit an adhominem fallacy. Rather, with facts coupled with his calmness and eloquence, the Senate President concentrated on the world’s Ethos, Pathos and Logos. What an enigma! What an orator! What a leader!
Many times he has been thrown jabs and many times he has remained calm. Despite all persecutions and allegations, he has shown himself the real man of integrity. He was cleared of wrong doings by the apex court in the country.
Considering all these qualities, won’t it be too small asking Nigerians to demand Saraki as the President of Nigeria? And again, considering the humble person he is, won’t it be too much asking the ebullient Senate President to serve his country as the President?
