President Buhari speaks on Onitsha Tanker Accident

Nigeria’s President, Muhammadu Buhari has reacted to tanker accident that claimed several lives in Anambra State recently.

The President extended his condolences to the families of those who lost their lives in the accident that occurred in Onitsha, Anambra State, on Wednesday.

The President commiserated with the government and people of the state over the sad incident, urging hospitals to give the survivors effective medical attention.

Buhari prayed that the Almighty God will grant families of the deceased the fortitude to bear the loss and grant quick recovery to the injured.



The accident was a multiple road clash and it claimed Seven lives. Sector Command of the Federal Safety Corps in the state, Mr Kunapayi Adodele revealed to PoliticsNGR that a tanker loaded with kerosene lost control and rammed into several other vehicles at Tracas Motor Park, Upper Iweka.

The driver of the tanker has since been arrested.
