Politics Nigeria: Nigerian senators occupy the upper chambers of the legislative arm of politics in Nigeria. In Nigerian politics, they pass and deliberate on bills in the national assembly. In Nigerian politics, the senators are the highest ranked legislative office holders. They earn good salaries and allowances, making them to be very rich. Records have it that some of them were already rich before venturing into politics Nigeria while some had occupied several other political offices before being elected as senators. Some of the serving senators are either former Governors, former ministers or former House of representative members. Some if them have served in the Senate chambers for more than two tenures, hence the main reasons why most of the Nigerian senators are among the richest in the world.

Politics Nigeria: We shall now highlight on the richest Politicians who are currently serving as senators.

    1. Dr. Bukola Saraki:

Saraki is currently the senate president of Nigeria. He is the senator representing kwara state central senatorial district under the ruling party, APC. Saraki is one of the most controversial senators in Nigerian politics. He was recently mentioned in the Bank robbery scandal and his asset declaration case is still unresolved. Saraki is said to be very rich having served as Governor in kwara state for 8 years. He has also occupied several other political offices.

    2. Sen Ben Murray Bruce

Murray Bruce is one of the richest Nigerian senators. He is the owner of silver bird television. He comes from a very rich family in Bayelsa state. He represents the Bayelsa state East senatorial district in the upper chambers under the PDP. Murray Bruce is popularly known for his “common sense” jibes about politics in Nigeria. Apart from silverbird, Bruce is said to have several other investments in oil and gas.

    3. David Mark:

Senator David Mark is currently the longest serving Nigerian senator. He has been representing his constituency – Benue central senatorial district since year 1999. He has served as the senate president of Nigeria for two terms.
He is one of the few Nigerian who earn salaries from about 3 political office sources.
David Mark was a military head of state in Niger state, a former minister and a retired Brigadiers general. These offices have given him the Lee way to accumulate wealth. This has made him to emerge as one of the richest senators in Nigeria. Senator David Mark also has streams of income from investments.

    4. Godswill Akpabio:

Next on the list is the former Governor of Akwa Ibom state. He is said to be one of the richest. He is a lawyer and leveraged a lot during his tenure as the Governor of the oil-rich Akwa Ibom state. Senator Akpabio represents Akwa Ibom Northern-east senatorial district under the PDP and he is the senate minority leader. He is one of the brightest Akwa Ibom indegenes to venture into politics in Nigeria. Akpabio reportedly has chains of businesses in Ghana.

Melaye is one of the boldest politicians in the country. He ventured into Nigerian politics via his exploits as a student Union government leader in Ahmadu Bello university, Zaria and the National association of Nigerian Students. He is one of the youngest politicians that are making giant strides in politics in Nigeria He is one of the richest senators. He flaunts his highly expensive cars and power bikes and very fashion-conscious. Melaye has other chains of businesses and he is one of the richest indegenes of kogi state.

Politics Nigeria: It is widely known that the wealth acquired by most Nigerian politicians is ill-gotten. Nigerian senators are known to be very corrupt, they reportedly loot and misappropriate constituency allocations making them one of the wealthiest. The aforementioned are the wealthiest. The list is not in any order. They have verifiable source of income outside Politics.

  • Is Mr Buahri's son a senator to have had a power bike like the Dino? who does not know the sources of their wealth; why not mention wealthy Nigerians whose sources of wealth are unknown? You haven't made a fair analysis other than insinuations to would-be-oppositions of a sort.
