Ogun governor-elect visits Awujale [PHOTOS]

The Ogun state governor-elect, Dapo Abiodun has paid a visit to the palace of the Awujale and Paramount Ruler of Ijebu Land, His Royal Majesty Oba Sikiru Kayode Adetona to express his appreciation to the monarch.

Abiodun used the opportunity to appreciate the monarch for his encouragement and support during his gubernatorial campaign, making his dream now a reality.

He took to his social media page to reveal the visit.

“This evening, I paid home to the Awujale and Paramount Ruler of Ijebu Land, His Royal Majesty Oba Dr. Sikiru Kayode Adetona.

“I also seized the opportunity to appreciate him for his encouragement and support whilst my governorship aspiration lasted.

“Together, we will build a great future for our dear state.

“Prince Dr. Dapo Abiodun – MFR, Ogun State Governor-elect,” he wrote.



Since his emergence as the winner of the poll, Abiodun has been receiving large number of guest and congratulatory message from length and breadth of the state, including fellow contestants like Buruji Kashamu, candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Social Democratic Party’s Gubernatorial Candidate, Otunba Rotimi Paseda stopping by at his residence to congratulate him for his victory at the poll.

Abiodun won the poll 241,670 votes to defeat the candidate of the APM, Adekunle Akinlade, who was openly endorsed by the incumbent governor, Ibikunle Amosun,  scored 222,153 votes, leaving a margin of 19,517 votes.
