The National publicity secretary of Afenifere, Yinka Odumakin has said that Nigerians have been ‘too patient’ with president Muhammadu Buhari with regards to his performance as a leader.
Odumakin, in a recent interview with Temidayo Akinsuyi, pointed out that Nigerians have ‘never been this patient with any administration before’. He said;
“I think the president should be the last person to talk about Nigerians being impatient; Nigerians have been too patient with this president.
“When he came in 2015, he met the price of fuel at N87 naira per litre, but he increased it to N145 per litre and there was not a single protest in any part of this country against the increment because Nigerians thought he was going to use the increment to better their lives. ”
“But here we are today. Nigerians have been so patient with him because there is no administration in the history of this country that Nigerians have been so patient with like the Buhari administration. This is because they had a lot of hope in the administration, even up till now.”
“So, it was wrong of him to have said Nigerians are impatient; in fact, Nigerians have been over-patient with this administration. While Nigeria almost got burnt down in 2012 over fuel price increment, what happened then was not up to what Buhari has done and so, he cannot tell us Nigerians are impatient. Indeed, Nigerians have been too patient.”
