In compliance with the Inspector-General of Police directive to mop up illegal and prohibited firearms in circulation across the Country, the Niger State Police Command recovered the following firearms of different descriptions in Pandogari, Alawa, Sarkin Pawa, Lapai, Gawu Babangida and Mashegu.
▷ 6 AK 47 rifles.
▷ 30 Revolver short guns.
▷ 42 Locally made Single Barrel guns.
▷ 8 Locally made fabricated Dane guns.
▷ 7 Locally fabricated Revolver Single Barrel guns.
▷ 5 Magazine
▷ 81 7.62/51mm LAR Ammunition.
▷ 1 SMG rifle.
▷ 2 Mark 4 rifles.
▷ 2 Barreta rifles.
▷ 1 Tye-06 pistol.
▷ 1 Locally made AK47 rifle.
▷ 2 Pump Action guns.
▷ 1 G3 rifle.
▷ 1 Mark 5 rifle
▷ one Gas cylinder
▷ One Machine and tools for fabricating firearms.
Henceforth, the Police task force will intensify massive cordon and search of premises, houses and stores on reasonable suspicion that are in custody of firearms or used for fabrication of firearms of any description and bring perpetrators to book in accordance with the provisions of the Robbery and Firearms Act Cap R.11 LFN 2004 and Firearms Act Cap F.28 LFN 2004 accordingly.
