A Federal High Court in Lagos has sentenced 30-year-old Thomas Didi to two months imprisonment for drug trafficking.
Delivering judgment, Justice Chuka Obiozor, said the accused was guilty as charged and sentenced him to two months imprisonment from the date of arrest.
The convict was charged with drug trafficking by the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA).
Didi had pleaded guilty to the charge and begged the court to show him mercy and give him another chance to become a better person.
The Prosecutor, Mr Jeremiah Aernan, earlier told the court that the convict committed the offence on Dec. 12, 2017.
According to him, the convict was arrested at Ghetto Marwa in Ajah, Lagos, with the restricted narcotics, cannabis sativa (Indian hemp) weighing about 800 grammes.
He said that the offence contravened Section 11 (c) of the NDLEA Act, Cap. No. 30, Laws of the Federation, 2004.
