A federal High court in Lagos has ordered the release of detained businessman and CEO of Capital oil, Ifeanyi Ubah. The court gave the Department of state services(DSS) 48 hrs to release Ubah who has been in their custody for several days now.
Ubah was arrested by the DSS over an alleged fraudulent deal with the NNPC. The business mogul is accused of illegally diverting Premium motor spirit(PMS) worth N11 billion for personal use. On Thursday, in a 100-page judgement by the presiding judge, Justice Mohammed ordered the secret police to release Mr Ubah if it fails to file a charge against him.
Justice Mohammed also expressed his displeasure a claim made by the DSS that Ubah was arrested in Abuja when truly, He was arrested in Lagos and flown to Abuja where he is currently being detained.
