Lagos collapsed building: Saraki prays for safe rescue of victims

The Senate President, Bukola Saraki has prayed for the safe rescue of the victims trapped under the collapsed building at Massey Street, Ita Faaji, Lagos Island.

Recently, the fifth person was saved by the rescue team from the rubble housing Ohen Nursery and Primary School, which collapsed just before 10 am on Wednesday.

Saraki took to his Twitter handle to pray for the affected families.

“My heartfelt prayers are with all the families affected by today’s building collapse in the Ita-Faaji area of Lagos Island, particularly the young school children who are reportedly trapped inside. I pray for their safe rescue,” he tweeted.



It was gathered that so far at least twenty children and staff have been brought out from the collapsed structure. Most were motionless.

According to locals, about 120 children attend the school.

Although Police are yet to give the number of casualties recorded so far, several parents and residents were seen weeping. One of the has reportedly lost five children in the incident.
