The Chief Imam of Jos Central MosqueNigerian leadersSallah message - Be just, fair to all – Jos Chief Imam tell leaders

The Chief Imam of Jos Central Mosque, Sheikh Lawal Adam, has called on Nigerian leaders to be just and fair to all for peace and development to reign supreme in the country.
Adam made the appeal on Tuesday in Jos while delivering his Sallah message to mark this year’s Eid-Mubarak celebration.
“Justice has been the backbone of peace and harmony in every society.
“You must be fair and just to your followers because every leader must account for whatever he/she do in the hereafter.
“It is not fair to be unjust to people you are governing.
“You can’t achieve peace when you are not fair to people and the first ingredient of peace in every society is fairness,” he emphasised.
He also called on ordinary citizens to respect their leaders in turn.
According to him, everyone irrespective of status will account for their action.
Adam further observed that abuse of the right of women has been the major source of social vices and moral decadence in Nigeria.
He called on men to respect women, stating abusing right of women and children in the society was becoming alarming.
The cleric added that some social problems such as marriage breakdown, child and drug abuse as well as prostitution were most often caused by abuse of women’s right.
“If the right of women would be maintained as enshrined in Islam, social vices would be a thing of the past and good relationship experienced in every family,” he said.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the celebration is going on peacefully across Plateau.
