The leader of the Indigenous people of Biafra (IPOB), Mr. Nnamdi Kanu has been granted bail on health grounds by Justice Binta Nyarko at a hearing in Abuja today.
Kanu along with three other members of the group were arraigned before Justice Nyarko at the Abuja high court. After reviewing the case and listening to statements from the defense and prosecution counsel, Nyarko granted Kanu bail with very strict conditions.
She set his bail bond at N100 million with three sureties; One of whom must be a serving Senator, a Jewish religious leader, and highly respected person, who own land anywhere in Abuja.He was also ordered not to grant any interviews to the press, pending the outcome of his trial. He will not be seen in a gathering of more than 10 people
Despite this developments, Kanu alongside three other pro-Biafra agitators were taken back to Kuje prisons in a green prisons vehicle escorted by four other black Hilux vans carrying men of the secret police.
