The Kidnappers responsible for abducting 6 school pupils of Igbonla model school, Epe have finally made contact with some parents and they are demanding an N1 billion ransom for the release of the children.
According to the Punch, the parents of two pupils were asked to provide N400 million each while another two were asked to provide N100 million each for the release of their wards. Investigations reveal that the kidnappers had written the school authorities about their planned attack.
A combined team of police officers and Soldiers stationed at the school were able to repel an attack on Wednesday evening but the kidnappers returned at about 6 a.m on Thursday morning after the soldiers and police officers had left.
They abducted 10 pupils but released 4 after doing background checks on them. Some parents who agreed to speak to the press revealed that the kidnappers contacted them between 3 pm and 5 pm.
“They allowed me to speak with my son. I asked him if he was fine and he said yes. They asked me to meet with the school authorities to raise N400m for my child to be released.”
Another parent who tried to negotiate stated that he was asked to meet the Lagos state government for help.
“I said N400m was much, but one of them told me not to worry myself. He said I should meet with the school authorities and the government. I was also allowed to speak with my child. I spoke with two other parents and they said they were asked to pay N100m each,”
Meanwhile, Governor Akinwunmi Ambode has vowed that the kids will soon be rescued and the Kidnappers will be brought to book.
