Seyi Makinde, the governor-elect of Oyo state has prayed for the quick recovery of those rescued under the rubble of a collapsed two-story building at Sogoye, along Bode, Molete area of Ibadan on Friday.
The said building was under construction before it came down.
Makinde took to his Twitter page to pray for their quick recovery, adding that he was told they have been given medical treatment and discharged.
“My heartfelt prayers for those affected by the building which collapsed at Sogoye, along Bode, Molete area in Ibadan yesterday evening. My aide who visited the site informed me that the victims rescued from the rubble have all been discharged from the hospital,” he tweeted.
Meanwhile, the Oyo state government will commence an investigation on the circumstances that surrounded the building and the reason for its collapse.
It added that the investigation will be carried out by the relevant agencies of the government.
Eight people, who were eventually rescued from the rubbles were also transferred to the hospital to receive treatment and they are in stable condition.
The Government further admonished building construction practitioners to desist from cutting corners and using cheap materials.
