Gov. Simon Lalong of Plateau has reassured the 2018 Batch `C’ Stream 1 corps members deployed to the state of adequate security and their well-being.
Lalong, who was represented by his Deputy, Prof. Sonni Tyoden, gave the assurance on Thursday in Mangu at the swearing in ceremony of the 2018 Batch `C’ Stream 1 Orientation exercise.
He said that the security and well-being of the corps members was a priority to government.
The governor said that government was working in synergy with other security agencies in the state to ensure that the corps members were adequately secured.
Lalong said that the recent crisis experienced in the state had been addressed.
He urged the corps members to go about their respective lawful duties without fear.
The governor, however, advised the corps members not to dabble into issues that could precipitate crisis.
Lalong also urged the corps members to desist from unauthorised movements that would endanger their lives.
He appealed to the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) Directorate Headquarters to send the full quota of persons meant to serve in the state as peace had returned to the state.
The Coordinator of the NYSC in the state, Mr Abdulsalam Alhassan, called on the corps members to ensure that they participate in all the camp activities to prepare them for the service year.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that 423 corps members were registered at the close of registration.
