Governor of Ekiti State, Ayodele Fayose has weighed in on the recent attack on the Nigerian senate by thugs and the theft of its Mace.

On Wednesday, thugs loyal to a suspended senator, Ovie Omo-agege stormed the Senate chambers and stole the mace. Fayose, in a post on Social media, had this to say about the development;

“Shamefully embarrassing that for the first time since 1999, the National Assembly was invaded by thugs and the Senate Symbol of Authority taken away. Only thugs with Presidential backing could have carried out that treasonable act & those involved must be treated like coupists.”
