Before signing the Bill into law, the Governor observed a minute silence in honour of the departed Member representing Warri South I Constituency in the Delta State House of Assembly, Hon. Mrs Omawumi Beatrice Udoh, who died yesterday at a United Kingdom hospital after a protracted ailment.

The Speaker, Hon. Monday Owhigho Igbuya, accompanied by his Deputy, Hon. Friday Ossai Osanebi, House Leader, Tim Owhefere, Minority Leader, Festus Okoh, Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, Hon. Governor Okowa in his remark commended members of the House for their commitment in partnering with the executive in improving the lives of the people despite the recession.

“There is no doubt that the House has been working very hard which has enabled us as a government to manage our affairs despite obvious challenges. I believe that Deltans are proud of the good work that they are doing.

“The Anti terrorism and Anti cult law is very important for the security of lives and property. I want to caution our youths to be of good behavior because ample provisions have been provided in this law and the full weight of the law will be meted on any offender.

“The law will help to regulate all forms of advertisement in the state which will help to improve the environment rather than the chaotic nature currently witnessed in our towns and cities.”

The Governor further assured that government will continue to improve on governance as more laws are passed.

Members of the State Executive Council including the Secretary to the State Givernment, Hon Festus Agas, Attorney General, Barr. Peter Mrakpor, Head of Service, Reginald Bayoko among others witnessed the signing ceremony.
