Femi-Fani Kayode, a former aviation minister has reacted to comments made by a former Ogun state governor, Gbenga Daniel who said his supporters wanted him to take them to the All Progressives Congress (APC) after resigning from partisan politics.
Daniel, who was one of Director-General (DG) of the Atiku Abubakar Campaign Organization resigned from partisan politics last week.
The former minister who is a chieftain of the People Democratic Party (PDP) noted that the move made by Daniel is sad being the first DG of Atiku’s campaign.
“For the 1st DG of Atiku’s PCO and his closest confidante in South West to dump PDP and join APC before the conclusion of Atiku’s election petition is sad. For a man that was gunning to be Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF) in an Atiku’s government to join Buhari after Atiku was rigged out is tragic.
“For a man that was Atiku’s spokesman to say he was not a member of PDP but still a member of APC 3 days before the presidential election was sad. For that man to have won only 2 votes for Atiku in his polling booth and lost his ward/LGA to Buhari is tragic,” he said.
However, Daniel had denied defecting to the ruling party, explaining that he only told his followers to join any political party of their choice after a closed-door meeting at his Sagamu residence.
