Crisis in Anambra over killing of 17 year old boy by Police (PHOTOS/VIDEO)

A police patrol team from Nteje Police Division, in Oyi LGA of Anambra State allegedly knocked down a 17-year old boy, Chibuike Akaniru last night (11th September 2018).
An eyewitness, Mr. Ejike Okafor said the police patrol team overran the commercial motorcyclist last night at Awkuzu while pursuing him when he refused to stop.
Another eyewitness said the police team was chasing the boy to collect money from him. The seventeen-year-old boy, the only son of his parents died instantly while the police drove away.
Reports say the unfortunate event last night has sparked off a demonstration by villagers along Awkuzu- Umunya Express Road causing motorists to seek alternative routes. Gunshots were also heard around the area.
