Robert Mugabe has finally been ousted as president of Zimbabwe. Mugabe has agreed to resign as leader of the African nation following his expulsion as the leader of the country’s ruling party, ZANU PF on Sunday afternoon.
Mugabe has been under intense pressure to sign resign as president after Army chief, Constantine Chiwenga led a ‘coup’ to depose the leader who has held power for 37 years.
Chiwenga’s move was made shortly after Mugabe sacked his vice president, Mnangagwa fueling rumours of a plan to field his wife, Grace Mugabe as his successor.
He is expected to give a public address soon.
