Senator Iyiola Omisore has dumped the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP in Osun state.
Omisore is reportedly set to join the SDP. Omisore and his supporters boycotted the congresses of PDP held in March where the State Working Committee and executives of PDP at the ward and local government levels were elected.
His supporters burnt down flags of the party situated around his house. Speaking on the development, the Chairman of PDP in the state, Hon Soji Adagunodo described the action of Omisore as hasty and needless.
He said the burning of the flags was unfortunate and expressed surprise at the conduct of Omisore in spite of several efforts being made by leaders of the party at the National and state levels for reconciliation.
After the burning of the PDP flags hoisted at his house located at Ogo-Oluwa, the former Secretariat of the party, Omisore held a meeting with his supporters to brief them on his next decision.
The PDP chairman urges the teeming members and supporters of the party in the state to remain calm and instead, focus on winning the next governorship election in the state.
