PoliticsNGR has just gathered that Deputy Senate president, Ike Ekweremadu will be facing the Code of Conduct tribunal next week over false declaration of assets.
Ekweremadu will be charged before the Code of Conduct Tribunal (CCT) by the office of the attorney-general of the Federation (AGF).
This newspaper gathered that the DSP will be arraigned on the same charges slammed against the Senate President Bukola Saraki whose case was adjourned indefinitely on Thursday.
Ekeweremadu is accused of possessing assets in the United Kingdom, the United States and the United Arab Emirates which he allegedly did not disclose in his declarations to the Code of Conduct Bureau (CCB).
It was gathered that officials of the Economic and financial crimes commission will be heading to the UAE on Monday to seek forfeiture of 8 properties allegedly belonging to the DSP.
The forfeiture is being pursued under a bilateral agreement reached between the two countries after President Muhammadu Buhari assumed office in 2015.
