Black soot : Rivers task force seals two more companies

Below is a press release from the Rivers state commissioner of Information, Austin Tam-george and it reads;

This is to inform the public that today, Saturday 11th of February 2017, the Rivers State Task Force on the Soot sealed up three companies for aggravated air pollution, and breach of environmental laws.

The companies are:

1. Chinese Govt Company (CGC) Aluu.
2, H$H Engineering Company Aluu.
3 . AUC Ashphalt Company. Aluu

The directors of the affected companies will face prosecution in accordance with the law.

The Task Force wishes to warn all individuals and companies that engage in practices that pollute the air and ruin the environment to desist immediately, or face the full consequences of their actions.

While Rivers State remains open for business, the State Government is fully committed to the implementation of the United Nations (UN) declarations on the importance of fresh air, and the creation of sustainable livelihoods in our communities.

We urge members of the public to join the drive for a healthy Rivers State.
