Mr Seyon Hunyinbo, the PDP candidate for Badagry Federal Constituency in 2019 general elections says the constituency has not been lucky to have good representation in the House of Representatives.
Hunyinbo made the disclosure in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Badagry on Tuesday.
“We have always been sending our second eleven or even third eleven to represent us. None of them had been able to help us.
“When you talk of civilisation, it started from here in Badagry but when you look at the quality of the people we have been sending there recently, some cannot even express themselves very well.
“Every other representation after 2003 has not been equal to standard.
“As a legislative aide to a former member of the House of Representatives in Badagry, Hon. Setonji Koshoedo, I am not going to learn again in Abuja if voted to represent my people,’’ the PDP candidate said.
Hunyinbo said: “As a legislator, I will use my good office to influence matters that will favour Badagry Division.
“I will influence the executive to better the life of my people.
“Look at our roads today; with the deplorable state of the roads, who will invest here?
“If voted to represent my people, I will be friendly with most of the people in charge and influence development projects in Badagry because I know how to lobby.
“I have found myself in such a situation before. When you lobby well, you get the best. Lobbying is not corruption.’’
Hunyinbo, however, promised to create a quarterly forum for the people of Badagry to come and witness legislative processes in Abuja.
He promised to always make himself available twice in a month in Badagry.
