An All Progressives Party (APC) Chieftain in Ondo State, Prince Abayomi Adesanya, on Monday said the party’s victory in Saturday’s bye-elections indicated its triumph in 2019 General Elections.

Adesanya, a former APC Publicity Secretary in the state, made this observation in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Lagos.

“The victory of APC in the just concluded bye-elections in the three geopolitical zones of the Northern Nigeria – Bauchi (North East), Kastina (North-West) and Kogi (North Central) is an attestation to the acceptability of our great Party.

He said that the victory was also an indication of the people’s believe in the President Muhammadu Buhari’s leadership style to re-build the nation, kill corruption and bring about a new order into our society.

`The massive turnout of voters and their peaceful conduct in Bauchi, Kastina and Kogi bye-elections were impressive and encouraging.

“This gives hope for better Nigeria and the credits go to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) for its voter sensitisation and education campaigns,’’ Adesanya said.

According to him, the feat recorded by the APC leaves nobody in doubt of the people’s acceptability of the party in spite of the recent defection of some chieftains of the party to other political parties.

Adesanya urged the National Assembly to give all necessary support to INEC by speedily passing its supplementary budget submitted to it by President Muhammadu Buhari for successful 2019 general elections.

Adesanya congratulated the Senators-elect – Ahmad Babba Kaita (Katsina North Senatorial District), Lawal Gumau (Bauchi South Senatorial District) and the House of Reps member-elect, Haruna Isah (Lokoja-Kogi) for their victories.

He advised the elected representatives to be good Ambassadors of APC in the best interest of our nation.

“To the losers, accept defeat in good faith for our democracy to grow. I admonish the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to prepare for final burial ceremony come 2019.

“It is obvious the party (PDP) has died since 2015,’’ he said.
