The Police have arraigned four neighbours in a Mararaba Upper Area Court, Nasarawa State, for allegedly disturbing public peace
The defendants: Michael Chukwuma, Chioma Chukwuma, Anthony Atsua, and Stella Atsua, were arraigned on a count charge of disturbance of public peace, an offence they all denied committing.
The prosecutor, Cpl. Hamen Donald, said the defendants, who are neighbours, reside at Aku village, Mararaba, Nasarawa State, committed the crime on Aug. 1.
Donald stated that the defendants engaged in physical combat which resulted to the disturbance of peace of the whole neighbourhood.
He said that the offence was contrary to Section 113 of the Penal Code.
The judge, Ibrahim Shekarau, granted the defendants N30,000 bail each with one surety each in like sum.
Shekarau adjourned the case until Aug. 28 for hearing.
