A group of traditional chiefs in Afaraukwu, Umuahia, Abia state have cried out over the disappearance of their traditional ruler, Eze Israel Kanu, his wife and their son, Nnamdi Kanu who is the leader of the Indigenous people of Biafra(IPOB).
The chiefs said that the Trio have been incommunicado and nowhere to be found since the September 10th Military invasion of the community. They complained that the development has robbed them of sleep. Chief Chimechefulam Odoemelam, a cabinet member, told punch;
“The truth is that we have not seen or heard from our Eze since we all came back. Everybody is confused about his whereabouts because we do not know where to look for him.
“We have reported the case to the body of traditional rulers in Ibeku, Umuahia kingdom where we belong and our Chairman, Eze Henry Ezekwem, has promised to give us a date to meet him on the matter.We are hoping that the Abia State Council of Traditional Rulers which he (Eze Kanu) is a member will also lend their voice in asking for his whereabouts.”
The chief revealed that an official report of the missing monarch is yet to be filed with the police because the Umbrella traditional institution in Ibeku Kingdom put a halt to further inquiry into the whereabouts of Eze Kanu until it takes a final decision.
