The Katsina state progressive youth Alliance has insisted that the October 1st quit notice to Igbos living in the North remains in place.
Despite several assurances from the Emir of Katsina, Usman Abdulmumin that Igbos in the region are safe, the group has warned that Igbos must vacate the region before October 1st. Secretary general of the Alliance, Marusa Abdullahi, issued a statement warning that even though the alliance deeply respects the Emir, the Quit notice still stands and won’t be compromised.
He pointed out that the region’s silence to Nnamdi Kanu’s statements that toy with the fragile peace of the nation, should not be taken for granted.
He said;“The southerners are allowed to say so many worst threat statements of threat, intimidation and blackmail, why aren’t they asked to stop. It’s only when the north reacted that they accused of causing tension”.
He described Ex vice president, Atiku Abubakar and Bugaje as ‘opportunists’ and people who don’t believe ‘in the north’ for speaking against the quit notice and in favour of restructuring.
