Crash is believed to be due to heavy traffic
Nigerians jubilate on social media
As at 11:34 am on Friday, December 1st, Ponzi scheme website, Ultimate Cycler became available online following a serious crash. This development has been a source of relief to panic-gripped Nigerians who had invested large sums of money into the scheme with hopes of larger returns.
Although the reason for the site’s crash has not been officially made public by the site’s administrators, it is believed to have occurred due to heavy traffic, hence the need to upgrade to larger and more powerful servers. The site owned by a man called Peter Wolfing has been in existence since 2015.
Many have gone on social media to celebrate the site’s recovery as its temporary shut-down doesn’t seem to deter them from ‘investing’.
Despite warnings from the Nigerian government on the dangers of patronizing Ponzi schemes, Nigerians still swarm these pyramid schemes in their thousands. The country’s economy is currently in recession and inflation rates are currently above 17%, so its really no surprise that these schemes are recording massive success.
