Photo : Lagos state police discover syndicate selling new born babies

The Lagos state police command has recently smashed a syndicate that specializes in the trafficking of babies in the satellite town area of the state.

The child-trafficking gang led by one Chinenye Amama, met its waterloo after some members were caught with a new born female child. They were arrested penultimate Friday by officers attached to the D9 section of the SCID, Yaba. A police source who pleaded anonymity revealed that the rescued baby girl and her mother has been taken to a Juvenile Welfare Centre in Alakara,Mushin.

He further stated that;

The syndicate was arrested on November 4, at about 6am. A team of policemen, acting on a tip-off, stormed an isolated house, where the syndicate kept their victims.We recovered a female newborn baby from the suspects and they are in custody at the SCIID, including their leader, Chinenye.
