Africa’s richest man, Dangote appointed board member of ONE campaign

The ONE campaign group has announced a new board member and its non other than Nigeria’s richest man, Alh. Aliko Dangote.

This is coming after ONE co-founder and U2 band lead singer, Bono and Dangote visited an IDP camp in north east Nigeria some days ago. On the trip they also announced a partnership between ONE and the Dangote Foundation, which will work to strengthen civil society and boost efforts to fight poverty and preventable diseases in Nigeria.

According to a statement released by the ONE campaign organization, Dangote was one of Africa’s foremost business men and brings a lot of experience in encouraging development and poverty alleviation.

Speaking on his new appointment, Dangote said;

“I am extremely happy to be part of this incredible organisation. The goal of ending extreme poverty is so important that everyone has a duty to help, and I am honored that I too will be able to play my part by advising and supporting the leadership of ONE.”
