Okoror suspended for anti-party activities
The Edo State Chapter of the All Progressives Congress, APC, has suspended the state Vice Chairman of the party, Chief Henry Okoror and five other leaders for anti-party acts.
The state Chairman, Anslem Ojezua, in a statement at the end of the State Working Committee meeting held on Monday, said they have adopted and ratified the change of leadership in Oredo Local Government Area and also set up a committee to look into the fracas in Uromi, Edo Central Senatorial District.
Ojezua condemned the situation in which he was held hostage in the home of the state vice chairman, (central) and said Okoror, Chief Francis Inegbeneki, Hon Kenneth Okpamen, Chief Priest Francis Ubene, Esan Central LGA party Chairman; Mr Anthony Ibhafidon, Esan Central LGA youth leader and Desmond Egbadon, Esan central ward 6 youth leader remain suspended pending when the committee setup up to investigate the issue present their report.
But Inegbenekhi in a swift reaction yesterday described his suspension by party as one that cannot stand the test of time.
