Domestic staff of former governor arrested for stealing N100 million

5 domestic staff of former Jigawa state govenor, Alhaji Sule Lamido are currently cooling off in a police cell after conspiring to steal a N100 million belonging to the politician.

The suspects were detained by the Assistant Inspector-General of police in charge of Police Zone 1, Kano state.

Politics Nigeria learnt that the 5 suspects were detained last Thursday following a complaint filed by Lamido himself.

Investigations reveal that the money was kept in a “ground bunker” in the wife’s wing of Lamido’ apartment at NNDC Quarters in Kano state. Thes suspects have been cooperative and are ‘singing’ to the police on how they carried out the theft.

A police officer who pleaded anonymity stated

As I speak to you, we have five suspects in our custody and they have demonstrated a great deal of cooperation and we are living no stone unturned to recover the stolen money.
