Former Niger governor, Abdulkadir Kure’s burial to hold on January 11

  • Niger state government declares burial day a public holiday

Former governor of Niger state, Engineer Abdullahi Abdulkadir Kure is scheduled to be buried in Minna on Wednesday, January 11th, 2016.

This development was made public through a statement by the state’s commissioner for Information, Culture and Tourism, Jonathan Varsa on Monday.

According to the statement, the Janaiza prayer will hold by 12 noon at Minna Eid-Praying ground.

The interment date was reached yesterday at a meeting between the state government led by the State governor, Alhaji Abubakar Sani Bello and the family of the late leader.

In honor of Kure,  the state government declared Wednesday a work-free day to enable Nigerlites accord the former governor a befitting burial.

Meanwhile, the Estu Lapai, Alhaji Umaru Bago Tafida has equally approved the three-day Fidau prayer for the repose of the soul of the former governor to hold shortly after interment in the state capital.  Kure passed away in a German hospital at the age of 60. He is survived by a wife and 6 kids.
