  • Abdulkadir Kure dies following relapse of unknown ailment

A former Governor of Niger State, Engr. Abdulkadir Kure has died following a brief illness.

Family sources reveal that Kure died on Sunday in Germany where he went for medical treatment. Politics Nigeria discovered that Kure was flown abroad last week following a relapse of an undisclosed illness. He was a two-term governor of the state from 1999 to 2007.He was responsible for introducing the Sharia legal system in Niger in the year 2000.

Abdulkadir’s death has also been confirmed by Tanko Beji, Chairman of the PDP in Niger state. Speaking on the development, present governor, Abubakar Bello told NAN;

I am very shocked but “from Allah we come to him we shall all return.I was with him about two weeks ago in Abuja where we discussed on how to ensure good democratic governance in our state.

Kure was aged 60 years and is survived by a wife and 6 children.
