Magu’s confirmation : Melaye, Ndume in near exchange of blows

Senators Dino Melaye and Ali Ndume were very cloes to exchanging punches today at the senate over the confirmation of Ibrahim Magu, the leader of the Economic and financial crimes commission (EFCC).

Politics Nigeria learnt that the senators had an altercation in the office of the senate president, Bukola Saraki, and dragged it on to the entrance of the Senate chamber.

Ndume is said to be in support of the confirmation of Magu, Melaye is vehemently opposing it. It should be recalled that Ndume and Magu are both indigenes of  Borno State. Investigations reveal that some senators  are in support of an open screening of Magu in today’s plenary session, some are opposed it, saying that Magu and 4 other officals of the anti-graft agency should  be referred to the Senate Committee on Anti-Corruption for screening.
