The Enugu state command of the Nigeria police Force through its operatives of Nkanu East Division of the Nigeria police Force on 5/12/16 in the early hours rescued a kidnapped victim at Ugbawka forest in Nkanu East Local Government Area of Enugu state through intelligence information.
Suspects arrested however gave their names as Saidu Ali,Nwobodo Chibuzor,Nwankwo Monday and Ogbu Emeka.
It was gathered that on 4/12/16 at about 10am, gun men suspected to be kidnappers operating in a golf vehicle with registration number DQ 105 ENU stormed Umuaragu in Nara community of Nkanu East local Government Area of Enugu state and abducted an 18 year old daughter of the neighbourhood watch chairman of Umuawaragu Nara identified as one Chinenye Nwobodo.
It was further gathered that the alleged kidnappers later abandoned their golf vehicle on noticing that operatives have been contacted and fled into the forest with their victim where they later commenced the kidnap ransom of the sum of 15 million naira.
Following intelligence information by the police operatives,one Ogbu Emeka being one of the suspected gang members was nabbed in the village and revelations made guided the operatives in the rescue of the Chinenye Nwobodo unhurt on 4/12/16 in the afternoon at Ugbawka forest and the arrest of other members of the gang at Ihuokpara forest on 5/15/16 at about 5.40am where they have allegedly escaped to and to avoid being fished out.Also recovered is the golf vehicle allegedly used in the act.Suspects are now helping the operatives in their investigations in relation to their nefarious activities while the victim has re united with the family. Meanwhile,the Enugu state command of the Nigeria police has assured members of the public particularly good people of the state of their safety and security before,during and after the yuletide The command has put adequate machinery in place in partnership with sister security Agencies and other relevant stake holders to ensure that there is safety and security and however warn mischief makers to turn a new leaf.
