Nigeria’s chief of army staff, Tukur Buratai, recently paid a condolence visit to the governor of Sokoto state, Aminu Tambuwal over the demise of Alhaji Ibrahim Dasuki on November 18th.

Buratai described the late Dasuki as a ‘fountain of wisdom’. He also announced the establishment of an 8th division of the army in the state, adding that officers of the division had begun operations in the North-east.

In his words;

As soon the security situation in that region is fully stabilized, the Division would move to Sokoto.The move is part of efforts to provide sustainable peace and unity in Nigeria and the Nigerian Army is fully committed to ensuring this

In response, Tambuwal praised the army general for his contributions, thanking him for establishing the division and two military secondary schools in the state.
