Major General Idris Mohammed Alkali, the Nigerian Army Corps Commander, Bauchi state paid a courtesy visit to Governor M. A. Abubakar, today November 15, to bid the state goodbye.
The Army Chief thanked the people of Bauchi state for her support and cooperation especially to the military. He listed achievements recorded while in the state to ensure peace and security. Maj. Gen. Alkali also used the opportunity to plead with the Governor to assist the Military community in fixing the major road in the barracks. He also informed the Governor that an order form the Defence Headquarters have mandated the army to utilize all forests in Bauchi for training purposes, this he said will add to efforts to flush out all criminal elements from the state.
Responding, Governor Abubakar thanked Maj. Gen. Alkali for his contributions in helping Bauchi state remain peaceful and calm. He said that Bauchi is lucky to play host to several military institutions. He reiterated his resole to make Bauchi maintain its position as the safest state in the North East region. He wished the Army Boss success as he reports to his new assignment at Defence Headquarters.
