  • Bola Ahmed Tinubu



Bola Ahmed Tinubu is a name that strikes fear into the hearts of many in Nigerian politics. The 64 year old popularly called ‘Jagaban’ which is a title he got from Borgu kingdom in Niger state, is undoubtedly the strongman of Yoruba politics at the moment. His influence and connections in Yorubaland are ernomous, particularly in Lagos, a state he formerly governed. The cornerstone of his influence lies in the massive wealth he possesses.

He is a founding father of the ruling party the APC and greatly responsible for masterminding the defeat of the PDP in the last general elections. Naturally Machiavelian, Jagaban is known to be very cool and composed even under pressure and said to have an uncanny ability of developing effective stratagems for different problems.

  • Chief Olusegun Obasanjo


Chief Olusegun Aremu Okikiola Obasanjo is a former president of the federal republic of Nigeria. The Only president to rule Nigeria 3 times, Obasanjo is a very influential figure in Nigerian politics as a whole. Once described as a ‘megalomaniac’ and ‘deceitful’ by his daughter, the former leader is known to be ruthless to those he perceives as enemies.

OBJ or Baba as he is fondly called, is also known to be fearless as he has, on different occasions, attacked presidents who succeeded him, mostly through open letters or jibes during interviews. Peter Ayodele Fayose, the son of a pastor, is the current governor and only governor to defeat an incumbent in the history of Ekiti state. Fayose fondly called ‘lion’ or ‘street boy’ is a very strong grassroots politician. His influence lies in his ability to mingle with people of all ages and class. His introduction of the ‘stomach infrastruture’ program to his people cemented his rock-solid influence in the state.

  • Chief Olusegun Mimiko


Chief Olusegun Mimiko is the current governor of Ondo state. Popularly called ‘Iroko’, mimiko has distiguished himeself in yoruba politics. He is deeply respected by many top yoruba politicians due to his peace-loving and quiet nature.

  • Chief Bisi Akande


Chief Bisi Akande is a founding member of the alliance for Democracy (AD) and the first interim Chairman of the All progressives congress (APC). He was a governor of Osun state from 1993 – 2000. His influence lies in the fact that he was intrumental in the merger of the AD into the APC. He is said to be one of the few people that Tinubu listens to and takes advice from.
